DNA Testing

DNA Testing is a common subject in our world today as technology increases.  At one time, it was mainly used in high profile paternity suits and criminal investigations.  Today, it is becoming more commonly used for genealogy tracing.  With technology today, it is possible for anyone to submit their DNA sample for testing.  Since each persons DNA profile is different, genealogists used these test more frequently to determine whether two or more individuals are related.DNA Testing

DNA Testing Uses

* DNA Testing help solve legal problems with paternity suits, and help to determine who the actual biological father of a child is.

* DNA databases are being created, holding information about archeology.  This is recorded genetic sequences and codes of life on earth, that existed several centuries ago.

*  DNA helps reunite lost siblings and family, proving the relationships.  An indelible mark on the chromosomes is left by genealogy, and when matched help match whether two persons are closely related.

*  Although controversial by some, parents are using these type tests on their unborn child to determine whether the child has or is predisposed to many types of incurable diseases.

*  Scientists use DNA Testing on material that has come from outer space.  This helps them identify and understand species, and help determine where they originated from.

*  DNA tests are used to find out whether people have a heritable disease, or whether they have a predisposition to a life threatening disease.

*  DNA is being used more commonly in cancer treatments to determine whether cells and viruses are getting mutated for cancer patients during their check ups.
